One year ago I was drawing bamboo strips, attempting to stick them together and it was
bam-bam-boo-hoo haha but it sure didnt seem funny at that time. Thank God CNY is so much earlier this year so it doesnt clash with submission. So yeah really thank God for that =)
Ok when sch started it was pouring heavily like almost daily... thank God that is over now. This sem is somewhat diff from all the previous ones. All the mods this sem are aki mods... that's cos they are fixed and there's 5 of them this sem so we cant take other mods. Which means that I see my akimates like everyday & we all have trouble remembering what project is for what tutorial & what deadline is for what proj and what lec is when & for what and what number is the code for what module. Oh man it's so messy I spend more time on admin & printing all the proj outlines/tutorial schedules etc etc than i do my design. And my wonderful friends are more blur than me so yeah... haha.
So far sch has been ok i guess... got into a studio that's not bad (let's jus say it was on my list of choices so thank God for that =) and the pple are not bad - I know most of them fairly well... cos this sem is by balloting for yr tutors and not assigning... it has resulted in a few fairly interesting phenomenon. First up, the all male studio plus one poor girl. Next, two pple ended up with the same tutor as last sem (which is not allowed). A few pple forgot to vote can u believe it? The party studio haha the amazing part is... these were all not planned. oh well i jus thank God i'm in a relatively (notice i use the word relatively) normal studio which a tutor who is more pun-ny than me! haha i can't believe when she came up with this ultra corny name for my design before i did! hahaha okok... Oh yeah... the best part is... I'm in a DDS this sem thank God! yeha haha no longer suffering in the open studio with no aircon on wkends & after 10 on weekdays, with no partitions & privacy. hehe i rem what yj said last sem - pple in the dds are the bosses with their own rooms where u need to tap yr card b4 u can go in, pple in the open studio are the workers who have to knock on the doors of the dds if they wanna go in (cos their cards cant access it BUT the dds pple's cards can access the open studio =) amongst other "privileges" hehe. and guess what? the poor guy is still out in the open studio this sem. okok i wont gloat =) u're all welcome to the dds anytime u need the aircon =)
This time we're designing a half-way house & so I've been spending my time traipsing ard geylang (dun worry i wasn't mistaken for someone else haha) and pasir panjang cos that's where the sites we're to choose frm are & where we visit the half-way houses. Of cos we go in a grp dun worry =) i must say it has been real interesting though... gg to parts of singapore i dun normally go & jus noticing the variety & differences in each town. yups basically after aki u see the world ard u with different eyes.
timetable for this sem is not very ideal... haha actually i see that every sem there's a diff pattern in the timetable. yr1 sem1 - the profusion of 6-8 PM lecs. yr1 sem2 - the profusion of days that start at 10am. yr2 sem1 - the strict delineation of aki days & usp days. now yr 2 sem2 - the profusion of days that end at 6 (and some that start at 9) which essentially means it's not v flexible esp when u need to go on site visits or art fren etc. But thank God for tutorials that r mostly on alternate weeks =) somehow after the ultra messy way the tutors went abt settling tutorial slots (still i thank God i avoided the tutorials on studio days phew)... i have ended up with a timetable that has tutorials on odd weeks. So even weeks are really nice =) yeah of cos odd weeks are tougher but well i accept it.
this week has been more interesting than the last few heh. thurs was lw's bday so we went to holland for dinner. went to TCC - i love their menu =) hehe i'm a flavour person so i like all the exotic concotion of flavours in their food. But the portion can increase thank you very much :) okok for the main courses it's still ok. I ordered the Apricot-herb-crusted Dory fillet with Apricot-and-Hazelnut sauce. it came with mashed potatoes. for the less brave dun worry it was real good =) awww i love their food & flavours =) then it was off to swensons for the free 3-scoop plus a free earthquake courtesy of the bday girl herself (what sorta frens are we?) haha dun worry we got the prezzie, cake & flowers =) the choice of flowers was so so funnily derived haha u wont understand unless u know her =) zy is exercising his funnybone =) poor banzhang though he was bomabarded by some pretty ahem questions by our indiscreet u-know-who (i wont mention names here cos i'm discreet :) so painful. And we saw 2 celebrities! Soo Kui Jien at wala's & Fiona Xie along the road... keep seeing her ard... the last time at the toyo ito talk amazing huh? she actually has an interest in aki! and so cy & astee got a pic each with her & poor cy was paiseh cos she didnt know the museum fiona mentioned haha okok i dun think i do either =) Kui Jien was a diff story ... erm too shy to go approah him so yeah his face looks as gorgeous in real as in reel. yupsie.
and I'm gg back to AC! haha cos somehow my grp for this bldg mod chose to go their to study the water sys haha cos it's nearest to NUS & petrina was from there yeah so they tried to make me the leader too but thks to si-si who saboed yj in the end hehe i was spared =)
the sad thing is that the other zy-my laoban for 1326 has suddenly quit aki. oh man it was so surreal... like how can he quit? he's the A student, the aki junkie who practically lives in studio(at least in yr1) and one whose final crits pple throng (cos they're so funny though he nv meant it to be so) yeah & our good old lao ban for the hugest model i ever made a 1/4 of the S-house. so sad we're all so sad & shocked. yeah many have quit since yr1 sem1 but zy? it doesnt make sense oh well but we respect yr decision all the best zy we'll miss u.
oh well what do i say? Aki school is NEVER boring. seriously. so yeah join the reality show pple who r considering aki... it's real fun actually i enjoy it & it really broadens yr horizons & allows u to do so many different things ... but u must have the passion or else... it'll be well ...
ok i gtg now got church tmr =) have a happy new year all u folks out there =) as for me, i'll be revitiing, designing & rejoicing that it's 6pm but i'm already home =) good nite & God bless ya'll C:
